Wyoming's Rich History

The City of Wyoming has a long and profound history. A city that has grown in the shadow of metropolitan Grand Rapids, Wyoming has come into its own.

Today, Wyoming is Michigan's 16th largest community with west Michigan's third largest industrial tax base. The City has grown to over 70,000 strong with a diverse cultural base, seven school districts, a balance of older and modern homes, retail variety and an abundance of parkland.

Wyoming Historical Commission

The City of Wyoming Historical Commission was organized to preserve, protect and acquire objects and data of importance to the City. The commission is dedicated to fulfilling this mission through the many services it currently provides for the residents of Wyoming and surrounding communities:

Local History Archives, Wyoming Public Library
Regular Public Programs and Lectures
Ongoing Research and Documentation
Providing Local History Publications
Partnering with Schools and Educators
