Do I need a permit to reshingle my roof?
Two layers of shingles are allowed on your roof without a permit. If you take off the shingles down to the sheathing, and the sheathing must be replaced, a permit is needed. Be sure to follow installation instructions carefully in order to maintain applicable manufacture's warranties and assure a quality installation.
