Bowling

Are you looking for something fun to do after school before doing homework? Here is your chance to meet and make new friends with kids from other schools while bowling three games each week. Come out and enjoy all the fun, including the End of Season Celebration on the last day.

Cheerleading

Is your child full of energy and outgoing? This class will teach the basics of cheerleading in a relaxed atmosphere as they work on routines to show off on the last day of class. Bring a loud voice, a smile, and cheer with us!

Dance

Classes are offered according to age and type of dance. The dance classes are offered for children from 3 years old to 12 years old. The Parks and Recreation Department offers Dance Basics, Preschool Dance, Big Kid Ballet and Hip Hop Dance classes. The classes are designed to enhance each child's coordination, rhythm and motor skills. Classes are 6 weeks long.

Gymnasticsgymnastics

The gymnastics program is offered year around. The gymnastic classes are offered for children from 3 years old to 12 years old. The classes are designed to enhance each child's physical ability, coordination and above all to socialize and have lots of fun. Areas of instruction will include floor exercise, bars, and the balance beam.

The Home Depot's Kids Workshop offers useful projects that teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while also helping to build a sense of accomplishment.

Play & Learn Program

Get active this summer. Drop-in at participating Wyoming locations to be part of this popular program. You will be involved in such activities as arts and crafts, team games, board games, active games, sports, special events and field trips. Come out and enjoy the fun!

Preschool Programs

Help your child expand his/her creative side. One day programs for youth ages 3-6 will be themed to do just this. Join us for Dino Adventure, Little Sprouts, Once Upon a Time, Pirate Treasure Hunt and others. This program is currently summer only.

Join "Crazy Robb the Science Guy" for this exciting opportunity to do some hands-on learning about the world of science! If you have seen "Crazy Robb the Science Guy" at a Play and Learn site during the summer, then you know you are in for a BLAST!

The Wyoming Parks and Recreation Department offers 4-week tennis camps at Lamar Park. Coaching staff will bring their wealth of knowledge and skill to the youth of Wyoming. This Camp focuses on stroke technique, serving, volleying, strategies and valued tennis knowledge. This program is offered to children age 6-18. This program is currently summer only.

Great Candy Cane Hunt & Lunch with Santa
Candy Cane Hunt

Children ages 3 to 14 years old are invited to participate in a hunt for the many hidden candy canes throughout Pinery Park. Santa will be our official starter of the event and will escort the children to the Wyoming Senior Center for lunch after the hunt. After lunch families will be invited to stay and work on holiday crafts projects and play a variety of board games. Children will also have the opportunity to give Santa their holiday wish list.

Come out and learn about some of your favorite animals with John Ball Park Zoo’s Traveling Zoo program. Learn more about where they live, how long they live, and the characteristics that makes each one unique.

Youth Cooking

Winter Youth Cooking classes are now being offered. The class focuses on introducing basic cooking skills and kitchen safety. Each week participants will prepare fun and delicious snacks. A different recipe will be covered each week and a personalized cookbook will be given to each child.

Youth SoccerChildren Playing Soccer

The youth soccer program consists of spring and fall seasons. Individual players register to be placed on teams across five different age groupings (Preschool & Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, 5th & 6th grade and 7th-9th grade). All teams are coed.

Preschool/Kindergarten teams practice for 30 min. on Saturdays followed by a 30 min. game. 1st-9th grade teams start the season with a few weeks of practice. Teams practice no more then 2 times per week. Practice nights will be determined by the volunteer coach after teams are made. Games are played on Saturday morning and afternoon. The 7th-9th grade team is a traveling team that will play games on weeknights as well as Saturdays.

Participants will learn basic soccer skills and gain knowledge about the sport of soccer. Numerous volunteers are needed for this program. Please understand the importance of coaches and team parents to this program and contact the Parks and Recreation Department to indicate you can help meet this need.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES for each season are as follows. Spring soccer - end of January. Fall soccer - end of June. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department for the exact dates. Any registrations received after the deadline date will immediately be placed on a waiting list. We do offer early bird registration for each season; please contact us for specific dates.
